Qualifications

Compensation Details

  • Scrum Master 18: Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,218 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive*.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
  • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, or Montreal, Laval, or Brossard.

Team & Job Overview

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

  • Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
  • Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
  • Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
  • Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

The Scrum Master (Agile Project Manager) supports the team’s ability to deliver their on their committed goal. The successful candidate will Help teams learn and adopt Agile practices, facilitate events, and remove impediments. This individual is also a personal coach for team members and an innovator who constantly seeks continuous improvement and builds high performing teams.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage and deliver end-to-end digital programs and initiatives, leveraging agile and design-thinking principles to drive sustainable implementation.
  • Review existing operations in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.
  • Ensure that risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints are managed appropriately for multiple products or services.
  • Where risks or issues threaten delivery, develop and agree on recovery plans.
  • Promote an agile atmosphere within teams and groups by emphasizing nimble action in service of constant customer focus.
  • Champion constant stakeholder dialogue - both internally and externally - by creating venues for that dialogue to occur.
  • Clearly frame team's and adjacent teams' inter-connection, clarify skills and knowledge needed to succeed, and create space to empower those teams to operationalize as they see fit.
  • Communicate openly and encourage others on team and adjacent teams to freely exchange ideas and knowledge openly.
  • Leverage a wide network of relationships for collaboration, partnership and information sharing to contribute to defined digital strategies and to identify opportunities to enhance strategies.

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce or Business Administration
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Scrum Master
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a dedicated Agile Project Manager
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile principles, DevOps and the Scrum and Kanban Frameworks

What will make you stand out:

  • Scrum Master and/or PM certification (e.g. PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, DASSM)
  • Knowledge of AzureDevOps and Planview applications
  • Project management experience
  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)
