Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to targeting molecules to deliver alpha emitting payloads to tumors. Its portfolio includes FPI-2265 targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer in Phase 2 trials, FPI-1434 targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor in Phase 1, and FPI-2068, a bispecific IgG-based EGFR-cMET radioconjugate in Phase 1. Fusion has other pipeline programs entering early FIH trials and is exploring combination therapies with DNA Damage Response Inhibitors and immune-oncology agents. The company operates a GMP-compliant radioconjugate manufacturing facility to support its pipeline.

The Role

The Scientist III/Senior Scientist, Group Leader, will lead scientific drug discovery projects, designing experiments, setting objectives, achieving milestones, and analyzing data while communicating results effectively.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and mentor a team of junior scientists, supervise their work, and provide performance feedback.
  2. Conduct laboratory studies and participate in experimental work.
  3. Develop new techniques and assays to enhance programs.
  4. Design and perform biologic screening, mechanism of action, efficacy, and biodistribution studies on radiopharmaceuticals in cancer models.
  5. Produce high-quality, well-documented data with attention to detail.
  6. Promote scientific excellence, open exchange, and rigor.
  7. Present results at internal and external meetings.
  8. Author and edit scientific manuscripts.
Qualifications
  1. Ph.D. in Molecular/Cell Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 3-5 years industry experience in drug discovery or radiopharmaceuticals.
  2. Experience in Oncology and preclinical drug development.
  3. Hands-on experience in drug screening and candidate selection.
  4. Proven leadership in managing junior scientists.
  5. Strong in vitro assay development, optimization, and data interpretation skills.
  6. Experience with in vivo cancer models and efficacy studies in rodents.
  7. Ability to adapt and develop new methods rapidly.
  8. Success in generating data for go/no-decision points.
  9. Handling radioactive and biohazardous materials is a plus.
  10. Effective team collaboration and excellent communication skills.
