Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact
Technical Leadership and Operations
- Lead analytical chemistry activities supporting laboratory services, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Provide expertise in method development, validation, and troubleshooting for nuclear and industrial applications.
- Support R&D projects requiring advanced analytical techniques.
- Oversee laboratory operations, safety, workflows, and instrument utilization.
- Supervise and mentor staff, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Maintain and improve technical procedures and lab infrastructure in line with ISO 17025.
Culture and Team Development
- Promote an inclusive, safety-focused, collaborative lab culture.
- Encourage communication, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Mentor staff and lead by example in safety and ethics.
Quality, Safety, and Compliance
- Maintain and improve quality assurance programs to meet ISO and regulatory standards.
- Champion safety initiatives and participate in audits and investigations.
- Ensure data accuracy and traceability through rigorous documentation.
Customer and Business Focus
- Serve as a technical liaison, providing insights and support to clients.
- Deliver high-quality reports and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for service expansion and innovation.
- Support business development efforts and client relationship building.
Operational Excellence and Innovation
- Improve lab throughput and efficiency through lean practices and technology.
- Lead initiatives to automate testing and reduce turnaround times.
- Stay current with analytical chemistry advancements to enhance capabilities.
What You Need to Succeed
- Experience in analytical chemistry in a commercial lab, focusing on operations and client service.
- Strong chemistry fundamentals and instrumentation knowledge, including GC, IC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and wet chemistry methods.
- Ability to develop, validate, and troubleshoot analytical methods.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Results-driven with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with radiochemistry and nuclear industry regulations is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Master’s or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
