A leading recruitment firm is seeking Scientific Productions Operatives in Kemptville, Ontario. Job description
Overview

Manpower is recruiting for Scientific Productions Operatives. Recent graduates in engineering/science or related subjects looking to gain experience in the battery or chemical industry, or individuals with operation experience in chemical/pharma or related industries, would be ideal for this role. This is a 6-month temporary contract for an exciting new product.

Pay and shift pattern

Pay rates: £12.50 for days, £15.00 for nights.

  • Shift pattern: 4-day shifts, 4-night shifts, 4 days off – no changes to this shift pattern (working 8 days in a row, followed by 4 days off). Rotational shifts.
Duties
  • Operation of the pilot plant equipment (training provided)
  • Assembly and disassembly of plant equipment for maintenance or troubleshooting (training provided)
  • Monitoring of production processes and fault diagnosis
  • Handling and preparations of raw materials and products
  • Ensuring high quality standards are maintained throughout
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidance as well as promoting a safe culture
  • Acting as members of site Emergency Response Team
  • Keeping high standards of housekeeping
Criteria
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Minimum NVQ/BTEC qualification in technical or scientific field
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience following SOPs
  • Comfortable working with tools (assembly and disassembly of plant equipment)
  • Able to perform manual handling tasks lifting up to HSE specified limits: 25Kg for men, 16 Kg for women
  • Able to perform strenuous activity while wearing a respirator
  • Flexibility to work shifts and support production activities through overtime (always agreed, never imposed)
  • Understanding of hazards associated with chemical reactions, pressure, temperature, gases, powders, solvents and hazardous materials handling in general
  • Good communication skills
  • PC literate
  • First aid trained (will be provided)
  • Forklift licence (will be provided)
