We are looking for an experienced Science Teacher to join our Morven Campus (Grades 8-12). The ideal candidate will be passionate and committed, capable of contributing to various aspects of school life, including extracurricular responsibilities. This is a Permanent Full-Time position starting August 22, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver the core Science program requirements and beyond, following the BC Ministry of Education curriculum and/or Advanced Placement standards.
  • Provide differentiated lessons to meet diverse student needs within a rigorous, engaging, and collaborative learning environment.
  • Collaborate with faculty to design innovative lessons, units, and assessments.
  • Assess and report on student progress and work habits, noting achievements and areas for growth with respect to curricular competencies.
  • Develop skills such as critical thinking and inquiry, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Apply knowledge and skills from math to various learning tasks and relate them to real-world phenomena.
  • Work with students outside classroom hours for tutorials.
  • Lead a co-curricular activity in one of our four strands: Arts, Athletics, Academics, or Service.
  • Fulfill roles such as advisor or Community FLEX lead as assigned.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education with undergraduate studies in Science.
  • Experience teaching the BC Ministry Science curriculum at the secondary level.
  • BC Teaching Certification.
  • Basic First Aid certification.
  • Canadian residency and legal entitlement to work in Canada.
Preferred qualifications and experiences
  • Experience teaching or interest in Grades 8 and 9.
  • Experience teaching Chemistry at the Advanced Placement level.
  • Proven competency-based assessment practices.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and teaching improvement.
  • Passion for engaging students with real-world problems.
  • Willingness to innovate pedagogical and assessment methods.
  • Experience in a technology-rich environment is an asset.

The 2024-25 faculty salary range is *$73,845 to $109,969, depending on experience and education. Faculty with a Master's degree will be paid at a higher range.
