Position: Science Camp Supervisor

Salary: $20.50 - $21.50 / hr

Are you looking for a fun and interesting job this summer? Do you enjoy working with children and want to gain valuable skills while working for a world-renowned science centre? If so, join the Science North team, Northern Ontario’s science centre and most popular tourist attraction.

Science North Summer Camps aim to put smiles on kids’ faces, excite them about science, build friendships, and create lasting memories. Be a part of a team that makes all that happen!

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a staff team in delivering quality, hands-on, fun, and entertaining science experiences for children aged 4-14 across Northeastern Ontario from mid-June to late August (with possible earlier start in Sudbury).
  • Coordinate all program requirements and ensure the physical and emotional safety of all camp participants.
  • Work with a diverse group of children, communicate with parents, supervise and support staff, and resolve program challenges.
Locations:

The position will primarily be based in Barrie, Huntsville, Midland, North Bay, Parry Sound, Pembroke, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, and Timmins, with travel to various other communities around Northern Ontario.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent supervisory skills and outstanding communication abilities.
  • Experience working with children and a passion for learning.
  • Residency in the respective city of program delivery is an asset.
  • Understanding and commitment to promoting equal opportunity and support for all campers regardless of ability.

Additional Requirements:

Fluency in English and French may be required. Travel expenses, accommodations, weekly travel bonus, and a meal per diem are covered by Science North. Candidates must submit a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check, a valid driver’s license with a 3-year safe driving record, and current First Aid certification.
