Job Description

Position: Science Camp Counsellor

Locations: Midland, Pembroke, Sudbury

Hourly Rate: $16.55/hr

Overview

Join Science North, Northern Ontario’s premier science centre and popular tourist attraction, to deliver engaging and educational science camp experiences for children aged 4-14 across Northeastern Ontario from mid-June to late August. This role involves leading a group of campers, organizing activities, ensuring safety, and creating memorable experiences.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver fun, hands-on science activities that are educational and engaging.
  2. Supervise and lead campers, ensuring their physical and emotional safety.
  3. Organize and manage camp activities from setup to cleanup.
  4. Work collaboratively within a team of staff members.
  5. Promote an inclusive environment supporting all campers regardless of ability.
Qualifications
  • Passion for learning and working with children.
  • Experience in working with children preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Willingness to travel (accommodations, weekly travel bonus, and meal per diem covered by Science North).
  • Successful candidates must submit a current Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check (less than 3 months old).
