Job description

Fresh Roots is looking for a dynamic, communicative, and confident farmer who loves working with youth and in a team setting. This position is designed to cover our current Farm Manager’s Parental Leave during the 2023 season (January 16 - November 1) but offers potential for employment opportunities beyond 2023 for the right person.

Summary

The Farm Manager (FM) at FRUFS serves our Good Food For All program with the understanding that everyone deserves access to healthy food, land, and community. Reporting to the Executive Director, this is a key manager role responsible for growing, selling, and sharing food within the communities where we farm; managing a team to lead our educational farms towards our production and educational goals; and helping make our farm spaces exceptional examples of educational farms on school grounds.

Application Details
  • Deadline: Applications will be reviewed starting October 21st and ongoing until filled.
  • Wage: $21-25/hour, DOE. Extended Health Benefits available after probation, staff discounts, and market discounts.
  • Terms: Parental Leave Coverage from January 16 to November 1, 2023, with a potential two-week orientation with the outgoing FM in November 2022.
  • Hours: Average 37.5 hours/week, flexible schedule. Hours may vary during summer; weekend work may be required.
  • Remote Work: Yes, use of personal computer required.
