Job summary

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a Nutrition Coordinator to oversee the school's nutrition program, including ordering, delivering, preparing, and supporting healthy eating initiatives for students. The role emphasizes organization, hygiene, and budget adherence within the school setting.

Hours are 5 hours per week (1 hour daily) at $25 per hour, with start as soon as possible and an end date of June 30, 2027 (or last day of classes).

Qualifications

Grade 12 education or GED or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
Food Handler Certification or willing to obtain.
Strong organizational skills to plan and execute snacks/meals for many students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with students and staff.
Ability to work independently and in a team to maintain kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements weekly/monthly meal plans per nutrition guidelines for students.
Prepares and serves nutritious snacks and/or meals, ensuring quality and hygiene standards.
Organizes, cleans and maintains the kitchen area, keeping it clean, safe, and well-stocked with utensils.
Creates and manages an inventory list of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely replenishment.
Prepares and manages grocery lists, procuring items for snack/meal prep.
Adheres to health and safety procedures.
Ensures cost-effective food purchases and respects the budget.
May direct the work of others when needed.
Performs other duties to support the Nutrition Program.
