Job summary

Upper Canada District School Board is accepting applications for a Custodian. The role supports the appearance and operation of a school site under supervision of the Facilities Operations Manager and Lead Custodian.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma with at least six months cleaning/maintenance experience in a school facility.
• Experience with small equipment repair is an asset.
• May require courses/certificates such as BES, water treatment, lockout/tagout, fall arrest, WHMIS.
• Enrolment in BES is an asset; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties including cleaning, disinfecting washrooms and floors.
• Strip, wax and maintain floors; replenish supplies.
• Wash windows, walls and light fixtures; empty trash and move furniture.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use ladders/lifts safely.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs; work across multiple buildings.
