School Caretakers
Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools is looking for hardworking and detail oriented individuals to assist with the cleaning and care of our schools. School Caretakers help keep our buildings clean and presentable for staff, students and patrons to enjoy. You will perform routine duties and minor building service tasks, including floor care, maintaining cleanliness in all school rooms and washrooms, entrances, and hallways.
Qualifications include up to grade 10 or high school graduation, with some related experience in janitorial or custodial work or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
This role involves the ability to complete manual tasks, effectively and courteously deal with staff and students, and follow oral instructions. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of standard cleaning and maintenance procedures including the materials and equipment used, along with knowledge of our facilities regulations and procedures. A valid Class 5 or 7 Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
Wage: $27.72 per hour, plus 10.8% in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays
Assignments: Casual work - assignments are primarily afternoon shift.
