Job summary

Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is seeking a cafeteria worker to assist with food preparation, serving, and daily operations in a school setting. The role involves cooking, cashier duties, inventory control, and supporting recycling programs.

Qualifications include experience in food preparation, a valid Nova Scotia Operator's license, and a current Food Handling Certificate. Applicants from CUPE Local 3876 will be given preference; accommodations are available upon request.

Qualifications

Experience in food and menu preparation.
Be organized, neat, tidy and maintain clean work habits.
Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
Knowledge of food and nutrition policy for Nova Scotia Public Schools.
Enjoy working with students.
Valid Nova Scotia Operator's License.
Current Food Handling Certificate.

Responsibilities

Cashier, as required.
Cooking, baking, and preparation of food.
Keeping daily accounts and inventory control.
Selling canteen items at recess and noon.
Kitchen duties as required in coordination with the cafeteria team (stocking shelves, cleaning, dishes etc.)
Support of the school recycling program.
Substitute for Head Cafeteria Worker, as required.
