Job summary

First Student in Alberta is hiring part-time School Bus Drivers to start mornings and return students home in the afternoon. No nights or summers, with field trips possible; expert training is provided to help you become a safe and professional First Student driver.

You will transport students, assist with boarding, perform pre-trip inspections, and communicate with parents and school staff. Flexible hours, casual dress, employee discounts, and EAP are available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Full Class 5 driver's license for at least 1 year.
• Part-time schedule with summers off.
• Enjoy working with students.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
