School Age Care Support Leader

Opportunity :

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic School Age Care 1:1 Support Leader to assist with the physical, social, and emotional skill development of a child requiring extra support.

Reporting to the School Age Care Supervisor and School Age Care & Family Programs Manager, the successful candidate will have experience working with children with additional support needs.

Contract Details :

• This is a seasonal position, from September 2025 to June 2026;
• Hourly wage: $21.50;
• Paid vacation as a percentage of wages;
• Working hours are 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Tuesday to Thursday, excluding statutory holidays, following the child's attendance three days per week;
• During school breaks and Pro D Days, work hours may extend up to 7.5 hours per day based on program needs;
• Location: North Vancouver, near mountains, trails, beaches, and Deep Cove.

Responsibilities :

The Support Leader will:

• Provide 1:1 support to children needing extra assistance, including behavior guidance and encouraging participation in activities;
• Develop and implement developmentally appropriate activities;
• Collaborate with Supported Child Development for resources;
• Complete monthly support timesheets;
• Review and follow care plans;
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment;
• Communicate positively with children, families, and caregivers;
• Contribute to the operation of the program;
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• Minimum age: 19 years;
• Eligible to work in Canada;
• Emergency First Aid and CPR certification (minimum 8 hours);
• Experience guiding challenging behavior or working with children needing extra support;
• Either an Education Assistant Certificate or 20-Hour Responsible Adult Certificate;
• At least one year of experience working with neurodivergent children;
• Current safety-oriented First Aid and CPR certification;
• Clear Criminal Records Check for Vulnerable Persons.
