Job summary

Ledcor Building in Toronto and Ottawa seeks an experienced Planner and Scheduler to drive schedules for major construction programs in Ontario, including commercial, industrial, and residential projects. You will partner with project teams and senior leadership to optimize timelines, manage risk, and align delivery with financial objectives.

The role requires deep scheduling expertise, leadership capabilities, and a track record of delivering complex projects safely and on time.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project scheduling and planning experience within the construction industry.
  • 4+ years of leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience managing schedulers/planners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong expertise in construction sequencing, CPM, resource management, and project controls.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and develop detailed schedules based on sequencing requirements.
  • Experience in infrastructure, commercial, or industrial construction projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee master schedules for large, complex construction projects using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
  • Lead portfolio-level schedule integration to align with business objectives and financial targets.
  • Collaborate with PMs, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to integrate all phases and dependencies into schedules.
  • Apply CPM scheduling techniques to optimize timelines, resources, and workflow.
  • Conduct schedule risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
  • Monitor performance against baselines and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present schedule updates, forecasts, dashboards, and executive reports.
  • Ensure schedules align with contractual requirements, procurement, cost controls, and cash flow.
  • Partner with Operations, Estimating, Legal, and Project Controls on bids, claims, and time extensions.
  • Advise leadership on strategic resource planning and schedule-driven decisions.
  • Lead schedule audits and health checks and mentor schedulers across the region.
  • Standardize processes, tools, and reporting methodologies across projects.

Are you an experienced Planner and Scheduler with 10+ years of expertise in Commercial, Industrial, and Residential projects? Join our Building Construction Team in Toronto & Ottawa and contribute your skills to deliver complex projects in Ontario!

In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to project teams and senior leadership, driving schedule performance through robust planning, critical path analysis, risk management, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in construction scheduling, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to align project execution with operational and financial objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to influence project success, mentor scheduling professionals, and help deliver major infrastructure, commercial, or industrial projects safely, efficiently, and on time.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee resource-loaded master schedules for large, complex construction projects using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar scheduling software.
  • Lead portfolio-level schedule integration to ensure alignment with business objectives, financial targets, and project priorities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to integrate all project phases, milestones, and dependencies into cohesive project schedules.
  • Apply Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques to optimize timelines, resource allocation, and workflow efficiency.
  • Conduct schedule risk assessments, identify potential delays and bottlenecks, and implement mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Monitor project performance against baseline schedules, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project delivery targets.
  • Prepare and present schedule updates, forecasts, dashboards, and executive-level reports that communicate project performance, trends, and risks.
  • Ensure schedules align with contractual requirements, procurement activities, cost controls, cash flow forecasts, and organizational objectives.
  • Partner with Operations, Estimating, Legal, and Project Controls teams to support bids, claims management, delay analysis, and time extension requests.
  • Advise senior leadership on strategic resource planning, schedule optimization, critical path trade-offs, and schedule-driven financial decisions.
  • Lead schedule audits and health checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and adherence to best practices.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop schedulers and planners across the region, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Standardize scheduling processes, tools, and reporting methodologies across projects to drive consistency and operational excellence.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for complex scheduling challenges, providing technical guidance and innovative solutions to project teams.
  • Champion proactive risk management by identifying scheduling risks and opportunities early to improve project outcomes and execution efficiency.

Compensation

$147,600.00 - $196,800.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
