Job description

We are seeking a Scheduling Clerk for secretarial support via remote telework. In this role the ideal candidate will set appointments, schedule depositions, and maintain calendar entries for assigned cases. The ideal candidate will perform a broad range of calendar support duties for the benefit of legal and managerial staff.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Must have a positive, professional attitude and be detail-oriented and a self-starter
  • Ability to communicate with clients and staff professionally and effectively
  • Excellent organizational and file management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates, schedules, and confirms such legal proceedings as depositions, cross examinations, telephonic and video conferences, medical appointments, interpreters, and court reporting services. Cancels existing appointments and reschedules events, as may be necessary.
  • Maintains case calendars and tracks deadlines.
  • Collaborates with other parties and related vendors to coordinate availability of the parties.
  • Prepares and processes appointment reminders, routine correspondence, notices, and legal documents within area of responsibility.
  • Mails or otherwise arranges for the delivery of scheduling notices and related documents to clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Maintains medical indexing.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer at least one year of relevant work experience with experience assisting attorneys and/or executive staff
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Willingness/ability to learn other software and computer skills as necessary to meet office needs

The job location is California.

The anticipated hourly rate ranges from $16.50 to $22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
