Job summary

Maple Reinders Constructors in Mississauga, Ontario, seeks an experienced Scheduler/Planner to provide in-house scheduling and planning for mid to large civil construction projects. You will develop baselines, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with established systems and procedures, while supporting risk reduction and quality improvement.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of civil scheduling experience and proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, with a degree in PM/Engineering

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of scheduling experience in civil construction.
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling software including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of construction logic, procurement sequences, fabrication shop load, and construction techniques.
• Degree in Project/Construction Management or Engineering, or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain consistent, realistic schedules for projects.
• Create fully integrated schedules with activities, logic, resources and progress.
• Produce reports including cash flow and resource-loaded schedules.
• Interface with project management, owners and subcontractors on planning items and reporting.
• Support change management processes, including impact analysis.

Scheduler / Planner (Civil Construction)

Maple Reinders Constructors is currently searching for an experienced construction scheduler to join our team at our head office in Mississauga, Ontario.

The Scheduler provides in-house scheduling and planning expertise to project teams for all stages of construction projects to develop disciple and accountability. This will include supporting the project team in the execution of all project controls processes and systems on mid-level and larger projects. Responsible for ensuring that all project teams are in compliance with the systems and utilizing the established procedures while reducing risk and improving project quality.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain consistent and realistic schedules for projects.
• Develop the activities, logic, resource loading and progress to provide a fully integrated project schedule, leading to the creation of the baseline schedule and its subsequent maintenance throughout all phases of projects (submittals approvals, procurement, construction, testing, start-up and commissioning).
• Produce all associated (relevant) reports including cash flow reports and resource loaded schedules, based on project estimates and master schedule.
• Interface/maintain liaison with project management, owner, subcontractors, etc. on all planning and scheduling related items and functions including reporting requirements, progress status, new impacts, etc.
• Support the Project Management Team in maintaining timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems. Including impact analysis.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of 5-10 years of previous scheduling experience in the civil construction industry.
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling software including previous experience using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• A comprehensive understanding of construction logic, procurement sequences, fabrication shop load requirements and construction techniques.
• A Degree in Project/Construction Management or Engineering, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
• Previous construction experience on Water Treatment/Wastewater Treatment projects is considered an asset.
• Previous construction experience on ICI projects is also considered an asset.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $155,000 / Year (depending on experience)
