Job description

The St. James Hotel, an iconic boutique hotel with Victorian charm and modern amenities, is hiring for the summer season! We are seeking engaging team members with a positive attitude and professional style. No prior experience is necessary as we are willing to train the right candidates.

Position Details

Work 20-40 hours per week during the summer, with flexible scheduling including days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Part-time availability up to 20 hours per week in May, September, and October is also welcome, and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist in preparing all foods according to seasonal menus and health guidelines.
  2. Cook hot and cold menu items accurately and efficiently.
  3. Help with food plating and garnishing.
  4. Maintain proper portioning and cooking standards.
  5. Keep the kitchen environment clean and safe.
  6. Communicate effectively with the Chef and team members.
  7. Address guest concerns professionally to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety, equipment, and techniques.
  • Understanding of recipes, cooking terminology, and dietary restrictions.
  • Attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with diverse teams.
Desired Skills
  • Experience in kitchen operations and scratch cooking.
  • Ability to multitask and present visually appealing food.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to cleanliness and teamwork.
