We are currently seeking a Scale Attendant for our La Glace Landfill. This role will be working shift work, 7 days on, 7 days off having 12 hour days with the hours of 7am-7pm. The La Glace Landfill is approximately 43.6km northwest of Grande Prairie. The successful candidate for this role must be local as there is no camp or transportation provided.
The Scale Attendant provides administrative support to the operations staff, site administrator and site manager. The successful candidate will quickly develop a working knowledge of the day to day operations and company activities while providing excellence in customer service. As a Scale Attendant with us the minimum responsibilities are:
• Demonstrating ownership of group vision and culture
• Providing knowledgeable and courteous customer service to all clients and co-workers
• Maintaining professional office appearance and ensuring adequate inventory supplies
• Assisting with any template/document generation that may be required from Operations
• Assisting the marketers, as required
• Responsible for daily ticket entry and troubleshooting problem tickets
• Assisting the Lead Administrator with the administration and maintenance of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable
• Conducting general office administration
• Filing, scanning, handling incoming/outgoing mail, updating phone and contact lists
• Assisting the Lead Administrator with meeting all facility month end timelines and facility sign off
• Assisting the Lead Administrator with safety tracking
• Fulfilling any other administrative functions, as required
• Landfill approvals
• Working knowledge of weigh scale
• Daily landfill tracking
• Daily Volume balance
• Grade 12/GED
• Administration or Accounting Certificate/Diploma would be considered an asset
• Minimum 2 years administrative/accounting experience is preferred
• Good time management and organization skills and ability to work effectively under pressure, meet demanding deadlines, & multi-task
• Ability to handle multiple changing priorities
• Solid ability and experience working in a team-based environment
• Reliable with strong work ethic
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements
