Job description

Island Wide Scaffolding Ltd. and its associated Group of Companies have been serving Vancouver Island for over 25 years. Based out of Victoria, BC we take on projects all over the Island – working exclusively with frame scaffolding systems.

To support our day-to-day operations, we are looking to hire a permanent full-time (40hrs/week) Scaffold Erector.

To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must have:

  • 2 years’ experience in residential scaffolding.
  • Technical knowledge of frame scaffolding systems, equipment & materials.
  • Fall Protection Certification required.
  • Experience working at heights in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently & with a crew of scaffolders.
  • Capacity to frequently lift 50lbs or more.
  • High understanding of OSHA regulations & safety requirements related to scaffolding.
  • A valid BC driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract & own transportation.
  • Competency driving 8-ton fully loaded vehicles, as well as pulling & backing up trailers.
  • Proficiency in the English language.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Erection, maintenance & dismantling of specialty scaffold systems across multiple projects.
  • Loading & unloading scaffold trailers.
  • Transporting loaded vehicles to site.
  • Maintaining & organizing inventory.
  • Site and/or Storage yard clean up when required.
  • Daily Scaffold, Lanyard, and Harness Safety Checks
  • Report to Project Manager, Site Foreman or Safety Coordinator regarding any safety issues/requirements.

This permanent full-time position (40hrs/week) will be offered at $35.00 an hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package (including extended medical, dental and Group RRSP program). A wage & performance review will be conducted after the first 3 months of employment, then every 12 months. Expected work week is Monday to Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm. Flexibility for weekend & overtime work required.

Note: Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, with the ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate without assistance before the anticipated start date of September 1st, 2025.
