Job Description

Are you interested in making the world a safer place through your expertise with unexploded ordnance (UXO)? Parsons has an opportunity for you! We need your help with the reconnaissance, classification, and removal of UXO from affected communities.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform the duties of a UXO Technician II as outlined in DDESB TP 18, including:
  • Meeting the criteria and performing functions of a UXO-TI.
  • Storing explosive materials according to guidance, preparing on-site holding areas for MEC or MPPEH.
  • Locating and recording subsurface anomalies and surface MEC using techniques like GPS and land navigation.
  • Performing field procedures to identify explosives-contaminated media or materials.
  • Inspecting and documenting explosives safety status of MPPEH.
  • Supervising SWs, SP, and UXO-TIs as required.
  • UXO Technician I duties include investigating, identifying, excavating, moving, transporting, preparing firing systems, decontaminating, and constructing engineering controls related to MEC and MPPEH.
  • Qualifications
    • 3+ years of experience as a UXO Technician I or graduate of military EOD school.
