Our client, a local industrial packaging manufacturer, is looking for candidates with woodworking experience for a Saw Operator & Packing Assembler position at their manufacturing operation located in Owen Sound, ON. The selected candidate will assist in the manufacturing and assembly of packing products utilized across a variety of industries including military, aerospace, mining, and nuclear (Bruce Power). This is a permanent day shift position that runs Monday to Friday with no weekends. Wage starting at $20 per hour.

About The Role?
The selected worker will receive guidance from the Plant Foreman or Director of Operations to carry out functions outlined in work orders, cutting sheets, and drawings. These orders will provide the direction to perform all material preparations and cutting using a variety of hand tools including band, table, chop and upper cut saws. Other tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Utilizing Hand Tools Such as Nail Guns, Impact Guns, Drills & Glue Machines
- Operating Forklift to Transport Materials & Store Products
- Reading & Understanding Requirements of Work Orders, Drawings, & Verbal Directions
- Working With Other Team Members to Assemble Products
- Keeping Workspace & Other Areas Clean & Hazard Free
- Other Tasks as Assigned
What Is Required?
- Demonstrated Experience in Woodworking or Carpentry Required
- Able to Perform a Range of Repetitive Motions
- Handle Weight Up to 50 lbs.
- Able to Stand for Extended Periods
- Excellent Hand Eye Coordination
- Demonstrated Experience Utilizing a Variety of Hand Tools & Saws
- Must Have Experience with Forklift (In-House Training Provided)
- CSA Approved Footwear Required
