Job summary

MDA Space seeks an Intermediate Systems MTS, SAR to support earth observation satellites across programs. You will define, design, integrate, verify and sustain SAR missions, and work with a world-leading team to perform system-level tradeoffs and prototype innovations.

Required: degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Engineering Physics, 2+ years in digital systems, knowledge of DSP, Matlab, Excel, C/C++, Python, Confluence and JIRA, plus strong technical writing and presentation skills;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Engineering Physics.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in complex digital systems development.
• Solid knowledge of Digital Signal Processing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop prototype embedded software and firmware.
• Participate in hands-on prototype development involving radar hardware to verify designs.
• Perform engineering analyses and trade studies to define system design.
• Assist in defining system-level specifications for hardware designers.
• Develop analytical models in Excel/Matlab/Python to validate designs.
• Contribute to test plans covering unit, subsystem, payload, and EMC tests.
• Support test-automation framework setup and test report certification.
• Trace customer requirements to conceptual designs and ICDs.
