POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a long-term temporary/contract SAP Variant Configuration Engineer in Montreal, QC. The SAP Variant Configuration Engineer is responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of SAP product model configurations (Variant Configuration or VC) in dormakaba’s Americas region. The role requires excellent communication skills and insight to interpret business requirements from technical and non-technical teams. Requirements must then be translated into system data model logic.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Create and maintain SAP VC model data through project assignments and sustaining request in a team environment.
• Develop VC objects- dependencies, variant tables, price conditions, constraints, knowledge base, classes, BOMs, routings, profiles, test, transport ALE/PDR, and document change management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve product configuration issues in sales orders, production orders, and front-end processes such as Salesforce quoting.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in relevant business or technical discipline.
• Experience with SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC) design and implementation.
• Ability to communicate and interact professionally with cross functional teams.
• Experience with data analysis, data cleansing, Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) methodologies.
• Excellent MS Office skills with emphasis on MS Excel or Power BI; including working with large sets of data, pivot tables, lookup formulas, and power queries.

WHAT WE PREFER

• Experience or exposure to Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) and the differences between LO-VC and AVC.
• Experience working for manufacturing companies, ISO 9001 or 14001 compliance.
• Active membership in and conference attendance at SAP Configuration Workgroup (CWG).
• Experience with SAP master data (materials, customers, vendors, pricing conditions) and integration of VC within SAP modules (SD, PP, FICO).
• Technical writing and procedural documentation skills.
