Job summary

Syntax, a leading SAP and cloud solutions provider, seeks an experienced SAP MM Consultant to lead design, configuration, and delivery of MM solutions across procurement and inventory management. You will work closely with business and technical teams to capture requirements and deliver high-quality configurations aligned with transformation goals.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, plus experience in S/4HANA deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SAP Materials Management with hands-on functional consulting or support.
• Experience in at least 1 full lifecycle implementation in S/4 with UAT support.
• Proficiency in English for client-facing activities across regions.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deliver SAP MM solutions for procurement, inventory, and supply chain processes.
• Gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Lead wear-to-standard workshops, process analyses, and validation activities.
• Configure core MM functions: purchasing, inventory management, goods receipt/issue, invoice verification, material master.
• Support testing, defect resolution, cutover planning, and go-live activities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for integration with FI, WM, SD and logistics processes.
• Prepare documentation and user support materials.

Job Summary

The Consultant MM supports the design, configuration, and delivery of SAP Materials Management solutions that help clients improve procurement, inventory, and supply chain processes. This role works closely with business and technical teams to gather requirements, configure system functionality, and support implementation activities across SAP environments. The consultant contributes to successful project delivery by ensuring solutions are aligned with business needs, quality standards, and overall transformation goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, configuration, data conversion and implementation of SAP MM solutions.
• Collaborate with clients and project teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into functional solutions.
• Lead or support fit-to-standard workshops, process analysis, and solution validation activities.
• Configure core MM functions such as purchasing, inventory management, goods receipt, goods issue, invoice verification, and material master processes as applicable.
• Support testing, defect resolution, cutover planning, and go-live activities.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration with finance, warehouse, logistics, and other related processes.
• Prepare documentation, functional specifications, and user support materials as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide practical recommendations to improve processes and system performance.
• Ensure delivery aligns with Syntax standards, project timelines, and client expectations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in functional design, delivery methods, and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in SAP Materials Management with hands-on functional consulting or support experience.
• Strong understanding of procurement, inventory, and material management business processes.
• Minimum of 1(one) full lifecycle implementation in S/4 with additional support and UAT experience preferred.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.
• Experience supporting testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution activities.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a consulting environment
• Proficiency in English is necessary for client-facing implementation activities across multiple regions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Implementation in cloud-enabled SAP environments.
• Data conversion experience
• Experience with integration with modules such as SD, WM, EWM, FI, or PP.
• An appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.
• Experience working in global, multi-site, or complex supply chain environments.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• SAP certification in Materials Management or related SAP solutions is an asset.
• Additional certifications in supply chain, procurement, or SAP are considered an advantage.
