Job description

Our Toronto-based client is seeking a SAP Group Reporting CFIN Subject Matter Expert contractor to join their project starting immediately for a duration of 6 months. This position is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the client site as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Solution Design & Architecture
  2. Lead the design and implementation of SAP Group Reporting and Central Finance solutions aligned with business objectives and financial reporting requirements.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, define, and validate business and technical requirements related to Group Reporting and CFIN.
  4. Ensure integration between SAP S/4HANA CFIN and SAP Group Reporting components, including Master Data, Transactional Data, and Consolidation processes.
  1. Implementation & Configuration
  2. Configure SAP Group Reporting and CFIN modules to support consolidation, financial planning, and reporting processes.
  3. Lead mapping and replication of data from source systems (SAP and non-SAP) into the Central Finance landscape.
  4. Manage data harmonization, financial consolidation, and elimination processes in SAP Group Reporting.
  1. Project Leadership & Delivery
  2. Act as a functional lead for SAP Group Reporting and CFIN workstreams in transformation or deployment projects.
  3. Define test strategies, lead testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT), and support defect resolution.
  4. Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and compliance with best practices and governance standards.
  1. Stakeholder Collaboration
  2. Act as the key liaison between finance stakeholders, IT teams, and implementation partners.
  3. Provide expert guidance to business users on system capabilities, best practices, and process improvements.
  4. Support change management and user training to facilitate effective adoption of SAP solutions.
  1. Support & Optimization
  2. Provide ongoing support for Group Reporting and CFIN modules post-implementation, including issue resolution and enhancements.
  3. Monitor system performance and data integrity across reporting hierarchies and interfaces.
  4. Identify and implement continuous improvements to financial reporting and consolidation processes.
  1. Compliance & Controls
  2. Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, including SOX and audit standards within the CFIN and Group Reporting framework.
  3. Support data reconciliation and audit trails across source systems and central finance.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, data flows, and integration mappings.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and mentor junior consultants or business users.
