Position Title: SAP Functional Consultant
Line of Business: Finance
What does the LOB do? Supports all financial operations for the bank
Duration: 12 months
Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid – 2 to 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday). Flexibility to come in on Mondays and Fridays if necessary.
Office Location: 81 Bay St.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Analyze defects, recommend solutions/actions and/or alternatives.
- Understand business requirements.
- Propose and collaborate on technical solutions with Technology partners.
- Evaluate solutions and propose recommendations.
- Leverage SAP functional design capabilities to document functional specifications to meet business needs.
- Manage vendor relationships (software and service providers).
- Serve as the main liaison between Business and Technology.
- Act as subject matter expert for supported business processes in collaboration with process owners.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations and negotiate.
- Analyze changes and impacts, and recommend actions or alternatives.
- Assess risks/issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Support multiple concurrent projects as required.
Must Have Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in project environments or equivalent, including SAP experience in banking.
- Experience with systems development lifecycle and system testing.
- Knowledge of end-to-end system design (process and technology), including cloud applications.
- Functional SAP knowledge.
- Experience in production support roles with error handling.
- Understanding of upstream and downstream Non-SAP system integration.
- Clear understanding of Enterprise Data Structure (Organization Structure) in S/4HANA Finance, including standard and custom chart of account code blocks.
- Experience with SAP controls, security roles, and data quality frameworks.
- Assets include experience with SAP MDG configuration, master data modeling, process modeling, workflow configuration, and GL accounting in S/4HANA, including multi-GAAP and multi-ledger accounting.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP Financial Close, Consolidation, and Elimination processes in S/4HANA, including Group Reporting.
- Experience with FPSL (Financial Products Subledger) for multi-GAAP banking products.
- Knowledge of Expense Ledger functions, including Accounts Payables, Fixed Assets, and Project Systems.
- Understanding of Controlling Area and Internal Orders.
- Experience with Profitability and Performance Management (PAPM).
- Banking industry experience is advantageous.
