What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Functional and Finance groups technology (FFGT) Engineering Group and be at the heart of CIBC’s core banking transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale applications involving multiple back-end systems. As SAP Consultant, you will assist with the planning and strategy for the technical design, development, and implementation of GRC and security policies in accordance with CIBC requirements, act as the development team lead and run role design-review sessions, support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem-solving skills.

How you'll succeed

  • Continuous learning: Keep up with SAP security updates, S/4 HANA security changes, and cloud-based identity management.
  • Planning and Coordination: Effectively troubleshoot security issues, analyze access risks, and optimize GRC workflows. Work closely with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate security policies, risks, and best practices to stakeholders.
  • SAP GRC & Security: Implement and support SAP GRC access control (ARM, ARA, EAM, BRM) and risk management solutions; Design and manage role-based access controls (RBAC), User provisioning, and segregation of duties (SoD) checks; Ensure compliance with security policies, audit, and regulatory requirements (SOX, GDPR, etc.)
  • SAP Basis (Good to have): Support Basis team in system administration, patching, and upgrades; Assist in system performance tuning and troubleshooting security-related system issues; Work on transport management (TMS), system monitoring and job scheduling as needed; Collaborate with Basis and infrastructure teams for system security hardening.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in: 7-10 years of experience in SAP GRC, Security and Basis (preferable); Strong knowledge of SAP GRC Access Control (10.x/12.x) implementation and support; Hands-on experience in SAP Security across S/4 HANA, BW, Fiori, SAC, BTP, and other SAP systems; Experience with audits, compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR, etc.) and risk management; Experience with SAML, SSO, LDAP, and Identity management solutions is a plus. Understanding of SAP Basis Administration concepts (system monitoring, transport management, troubleshooting) would be nice to have. You have a delivery-focused approach to work and the ability to work without direction. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems; Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices; Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals; Managing Multiple Priorities - Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.
