Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Montreal, QC seeks an experienced SAP Basis Consultant to support migration, installation, and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA. The role requires hands-on experience across the full system lifecycle and comfort working in a highly regulated financial services environment.

You will manage S/4HANA migrations, system copies, transports, OS/DB sizing, and high availability, while ensuring change control, audit readiness, and clear stakeholder communication across Dev/QA/Prod

Qualifications

• Hands-on SAP Basis administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end migration to SAP S/4HANA.
• Install, configure, and landscape manage SAP S/4HANA systems.
• Manage transport management, system copies, client copies, and refreshes across Dev/QA/Prod.
• Coordinate with SAP and cloud teams on sizing, OS/DB configuration, and HA/DR setup.
• Work with SAP S/4HANA APIs to support integration design.
• Provide ongoing Basis support for ECC, BPC, FI-AA, FI-AP environments.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, patch management, and kernel upgrades.
• Manage user administration, roles, authorizations, SNC/SSO configurations.
• Manage SAP landscapes across environments with change-control discipline.

SAP Basis Consultant

Location: Montreal, QC

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Consultant to support the migration, installation, and eventual maintenance of our SAP S/4HANA environment. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with SAP infrastructure across the full system lifecycle — from installations and system migrations to day-to-day basis operations — and is comfortable operating in a complex, highly regulated financial services environment.

Core Responsibilities

S/4HANA Migration & Implementation

• Support end-to-end migration to SAP S/4HANA
• Perform installation, configuration, and landscape management of SAP S/4HANA systems in accordance with SAP-endorsed architectures
• Manage transport management systems (TMS), system copies, client copies, and refreshes across Dev/QA/Prod landscapes
• Coordinate with SAP and cloud infrastructure teams on sizing, OS/DB configuration, and high availability / disaster recovery setup
• Work with SAP S/4HANA APIs to support integration design and connectivity

SAP Basis Administration & Support

• Provide ongoing Basis support for the following SAP environments:
• SAP ECC (legacy landscape maintenance and co-existence)
• SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation)
• Fixed Assets (FI-AA) and Accounts Payable (FI-AP) modules within the Financial Accounting (FI) landscape
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, patch management, and kernel upgrades
• Manage user administration, roles, authorizations, and SNC/SSO configurations

Landscape & Release Management

• Manage SAP system landscapes across multiple environments, ensuring stability and compliance with change management policies

Required Qualifications

• Good years of SAP Basis administration experience
• Proven hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA installation, system conversion, and migration
• Strong working knowledge of SAP Basis administration
• Experience supporting SAP ECC, SAP BPC, FI-AA (Fixed Assets), and FI-AP (Accounts Payable) environments
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA architecture, tooling, and API landscape
• Knowledge of SAP HANA database administration (backup/recovery, system replication, performance)
• Experience with high availability and DR configurations
• Strong understanding of OS-level administration (Linux/Unix) and virtualization
• Strong understanding of DB2 Database Management
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Background in ABAP development — ability to read, debug, and write ABAP code to support Basis-related troubleshooting and transport resolution
• Experience with ETL processes and data pipeline design, particularly in the context of SAP data extraction
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and supporting data migration from SAP to Snowflake, including schema mapping, delta loads, and data validation
• Familiarity with SAP integration patterns and API consumption
• Experience in financial services or capital markets environments (regulatory compliance, audit trails, SOX controls)
• SAP certifications in Basis / Technology (e.g., C_TADM_23, C_HANADEV, or equivalent)
