Job description

Our client in Kitchener is looking for a Sanitation Manager with experience in Food Processing Sanitation and Supervisory experience!

As the qualified Sanitation Manager, you will be the recipient of a solid compensation package including salary between 70-90K depending on experience as well as a comprehensive benefits package and generous time off!

Job Requirements:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in food industry sanitation
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or consumer product industry
  • Computer skills Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with all levels of the plant, organization, outside vendors and customers.
  • Must be flexible to work Overtime and On Call
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, modify, and design sanitation policies and procedures to ensure product quality and integrity.
  • Determine line cleaning schedule including equipment, framework, ovens, walls, infrastructure, etc.
  • Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
  • Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
  • Provide guidance and share best practices with other managers and assist in cross-functional investigations.
  • Continuously improve the sanitation program through staying current on new cleaning practices, and work to standardize procedures across all facilities.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to develop a high-performance team, in addition to providing support to other teams.
  • Consult on all performance issues, including performance appraisals, training and corrective actions.
  • Ensure food safety is maintained throughout work and immediately report any food safety concerns to the Quality.
  • Oversee the execution and management of the cleaning and sanitation budget.
  • Escalate any problems or concerns to Quality Director.
  • Partner with other departments and help coordinate cleaning activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of all facilities to ensure the effective implementation and operation of the sanitation program.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and constant communication with other departments and management regarding sanitation to ensure no business interruptions.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures including Health and Safety, GMP’s, Food Safety, and Food Defense Guidelines.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
