Overview

The Night Shift Sanitation Supervisor provides sanitation expertise to both production facilities. This position involves developing, managing and continuously improving a comprehensive sanitation program that encompasses GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) Food Safety and Security, allergen program and chemical control, and outside contract development. Maintains recordkeeping to direct others to perform scheduled tasks in an efficient manner and maintain master sanitation schedule. Accompany outside cleaning contractors on weekly plant inspections and during audits. Audit performance of outside sanitation contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct plant-wide mandated training for PDC employees for sanitation and ensure cleaning contractors meet our training requirements.
  • Ensure and audit completion of Plant Sanitation Audits follow up with required corrective actions the audits identify.
  • Coordinates and prepares both facilities for all audits.
  • Identifies equipment to be cleaned, phasing of cleaning, and the number of individuals required to clean.
  • Coordinates clean-ups, conduct clean-up inspections and validations using swabs and/or samples collected for analysis.
  • Maintains master sanitation schedule per Company guidelines assuring that all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly tasks are performed and documented.
  • Develops written cleaning procedures and SOP’s Standard Operating Procedures for all plant equipment.Assures cleaning procedures are maintained, updated and ensures training for all required personnel is provided by contractors
  • Assures Sanitation supply inventory levels are managed to meet targets without impeding plant objects.
  • Establish a tour route checklist for critical equipment and report on a daily basis.
  • Manage a list of damaged equipment during sanitation and establish systematically
  • Effective implementation and adherence to the company’s Food Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures including but not limited to SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure food safety and quality of products manufactured.
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations and food safety policies and procedures.Food Safety compliance for both facilities by ensuring proper sanitary conditions at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines are followed.Compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for supporting and upgrading skills and knowledge of the employees/outside cleaning contractor company. Ensure Diversity and Inclusive meets/exceeds Plats du Chef’s standards.Proactively engage in the development and training of employees/outside cleaning contractors and support such plans developed by the Plant Managers and Quality Assurance Departments.
  • Responsible to ensure all Health and Safety regulations are followed and enforce daily procedures related to the “Lock-Out Tag-Out” Procedures. Also, responsible for applying corrective measures by the Health & Safety Committee following their monthly audits.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • College or University degree in a related field (Food and Science Technology, Operations Management).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Food Plant Sanitation preferably in a food setting using fresh and frozen ingredients.
  • Solid understanding of quality standards.
  • Highly developed leadership, interpersonal and strong people skills demonstrated the ability to manage a diverse crew of people at all levels of ability.
  • Computer skills, budgeting & report writing/implementing corrective actions; A3 problem-solving.
  • Advanced experience in problem-solving, process management and analysis in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Well-developed analytical, modelling & critical thinking skills.
  • Good human relations and good oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions Notations

  • Periodic exposure to temperatures noticeably above and below room temperature.
  • Constant exposure to food products may cause allergic reactions (flour, milk, etc).
  • Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals.
