Job summary

Ya YA Foods is seeking a sanitation-focused team member to maintain high standards of cleanliness across production areas, labs, and common spaces. You will follow SOPs, GMP and HACCP guidelines while keeping floors, equipment, and facilities pristine.

Prior certification for scissor lift or forklift is a plus, and a high school diploma or GED is required. We value teamwork, reliability and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Having a scissor lift and forklift license is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of MSDS and WHMIS.
  • Ability to create a clean, hygienic and safe working environment.
  • Strong organization, time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and disinfecting all common areas, production areas, warehouses, exterior premises and labs.
  • Sweep and mop floors on a daily basis.
  • Empty trash and recycling; dispose of waste properly.
  • Refill soap and hand towels; maintain cleaning supplies.
  • Follow SOPs, GMP and HACCP procedures for cleanliness and safety.
  • Communicate with team and management about cleaning issues.

Reports to: Sanitation Manager
Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and disinfecting allcommon areas(lunchroom and washroom), production areas, warehouses, exterior premises and labs.
  • Sweep and mop the floors on daily basis.
  • Empty all trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste inappropriate receptacles.
  • Refill soap and hand towels.
  • B e able to work at heights to clean.
  • Use safety signs to prevent incidents and accidents (e.g., wet floor signs).
  • Restock cleaning supplies and keep the team leader updated about inventory and maintenance issues.
  • Report on potential issuestomanagement.
  • Understand the Standard Operating Procedures and inspection regulations.
  • Read chemical labels or Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and properly handle chemicals.
  • Understand labels, packages, and basic measurements.
  • Complete forms andmaintaincleaning records.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to address any cleaning-related concerns or issues.
  • Implement all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness, food safety and pest control with the facility.
  • Observe all safety rules and promote a safe working environment with team members.
  • Maintain strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Compliance with all rules and policiesregardingHealth & Safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
  • Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which include, butisnot limited to, Production, Quality, Food Safety and GMP.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Read chemical labels or Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and properly handle chemicals.
  • Understand labels, packages, and basic measurements.
  • Complete forms andmaintaincleaning records.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to address any cleaning-related concerns or issues.
