Agropur is looking for a Sanitation and Sanitary Maintenance Supervisor to join its Truro team.

The Sanitation and Sanitary Maintenance Supervisor oversees, directs, and performs all tasks required to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility. He also identifies sanitation needs, directs cleaning and sanitizing of areas that need specific attention.

• Salary range 004: 67,700$ to 84,600$ (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)

What’s involved in this role:

• Develop and conduct training programs for new employees and annual refresher courses on storeroom access and best practices.
• Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures to meet plant goals and KPIs.
• Restrict storeroom access to authorized personnel only.
• Prepare and analyze reports related to storeroom activities.
• Utilize interpersonal and leadership skills to resolve team issues and foster a positive work environment.
• Train Sanitation personnel to operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Oversee, direct, and perform all tasks required to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility.
• Ensure compliance with all Corporate and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards and environmental standards.
• Monitor and address environmental microbiological concerns effectively and in a timely manner.
• Ensure staff are properly trained in the usage and storage of sanitation chemicals and equipment.
• Oversee Sanitary PM’s including valve teardowns, plate heat exchanger inspections and tank/sprayball inspections.
• Liaise with corporate quality in order to maintain standards.
• Own and execute the yearly sanitation schedule.
• Oversee equipment validation process and documentation.
• Develop and modify as necessary written Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
• Recommend changes to improve sanitation policies, procedures and standards.
• Monitor completed sanitation tasks and overall plant cleanliness.
• Complete all required paperwork on a daily basis.

What you need to join our team:

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology or related field an asset.
• Minimum three (3) years of food safety/sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• HACCP and SQF certification an asset.
