Job summary

A leading frozen dessert manufacturer in Delta is seeking a full-time Sanitation Worker to maintain cleanliness in the production areas. Responsibilities include cleaning equipment, managing sanitation processes, and working both indoors and outdoors. Job description

The Original Cakerie is Canada's leading and largest privately-owned frozen dessert manufacturer. We have been experiencing exponential growth and are excited to offer a Full-Time Sanitation Worker position.

Responsibilities & Duties :

  • Perform sanitation duties including cleaning and sanitizing throughout the plant in all production areas, dismantling, cleaning, and sanitizing processing equipment.
  • Maintain sanitation and housekeeping functions throughout the plant, including wastewater treatment, garbage management, spiral freezer cleaning, and clean-in-place (CIP) procedures.
  • Work both inside and outside the plant.
  • Understand the principles of the master cleaning schedule, dispense chemical cleaning solutions, meet quality control guidelines, and follow department procedures.
  • Identify equipment problems and collaborate with maintenance and setup teams.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to achieve organizational goals.

Position Requirements :

  • Ability to work with all chemical cleaning agents, including fungicides and possible insecticides.
  • Reliable with an excellent attendance record.
  • Strong initiative to achieve results.
  • Ability to perform some heavy lifting, climb stairs, navigate around manufacturing equipment, and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; a team player.
  • Ability to work with limited or no supervision.
  • Scissor lift experience preferred.

What We Offer :

  • Pay rate: $22.97/hr
  • $1000 referral bonus
  • Night premium: $1.50 (between 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM)
  • 8-hour shifts for 5 days
