Job description

About the Position :

• This position requires attention to detail, an understanding of production flow, and a willingness to learn and follow proper techniques.
• If you are looking for a job that produces immediate results and exposes you to new products and projects daily, then we may have a position for you.
• In house training will be provided.
• Prepare parts for blasting according to work order (degreasing, masking).
• Stage parts on blast carts and move carts in and out of the blast booth using a forklift.
• Inspect parts and identify s concerns prior to blasting (i.e. broken item, grease, paint etc.).
• Inspect parts after blasting and confirm blasted parts meet required SSPC standard.
• Rack parts for coating.
• Assist with media reclaim (sweeping media and circulating it).
• Assist with other shop duties as assigned (packing, sanding etc.).

Sandblaster Duties :

• Blast customer goods as per work order to SSPC standards.
• Safety Inspections of equipment, oversee or complete on own.
• Maintain communication with the Blast Assistant.
• Basic equipment maintenance (nozzle and hose replacement, trouble shoot pot blockages, replace coupler seals, familiar with nozzle gauge and air pressure gauge).
• Manage compressor usage (turn off variable when not blasting).

Qualifications :

• Capable of reading and writing in English.
• Able to safely lift up to 50lbs.
• Actively engage in problem-solving, not problem naming.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow a process to completion.
