Job description

We are currently hiring a Sample Receipt Technician to join our Environmental Logistics team. This position is available to start on May 26th, 2025, and is based at the St. John's location. In this role, the successful candidate will provide administrative support with basic logistics activities. This is a great opportunity for someone starting their career to gain valuable experience and guidance from the Logistics Supervisor and team.

What you will be doing :
  1. Ensure samples are properly entered into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and are available to laboratory staff in a timely manner.
  2. Ensure all sample integrity issues are properly documented and reported.
  3. Process incoming non-sample deliveries appropriately.
  4. Follow all safety procedures.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table :
  1. High school diploma required; candidates with post-secondary education in science are an asset.
  2. Previous customer service experience or experience in a laboratory setting is an asset.
  3. Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office; experience using LIMS is an asset.
  4. Excellent English communication skills—reading, writing, and speaking.
  5. Strong time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask.
  6. Well organized and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
