Job summary

AGAT Laboratories Ltd. is hiring an entry-level Sample Receipt Technician in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. You will support the logistics chain by receiving, setting up, and moving samples under supervision, with shifts from Monday to Friday 10:00–18:30 and rotating Saturdays 9:00–13:00.

Ideal candidates bring basic computer skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a dynamic laboratory environment. Some lifting up to 10 kg is expected, and experience in customer service is a plus.

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in a science-related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Enter samples in the Laboratory Information Management System and ensure accessibility for staff.
• Document and report any sample integrity issues.
• Process incoming non-sample deliveries properly.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Summary:

The Sample Receipt Technician is an entry-level position into the logistics chain. This position is given direction from the Logistics Supervisor and other logistics team members. The Sample Receipt Technician is responsible for the reception, setting up, and movement of samples. Scheduled shifts will be Monday - Friday from 10 AM - 6:30 PM. Rotational Saturday hours are required from 9 AM - 1 PM.

What you will be doing:

• Ensure samples are properly entered in the Laboratory Information Management System and are available to laboratory staff in a timely manner.
• Document and report all sample integrity issues at all times.
• Process incoming non-sample deliveries properly.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
