The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Location and Reporting Structure


Reporting to the Chief Assayer, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare and manage the receiving and preparation area;
• Prepare mine samples, exploration core samples and plant pulp samples;
• Assist in the Leachwell Lab, Fire Lab or Chemistry;
• Sort and record samples received to ensure they correlate with the receiving manifest;
• Dry, Crush, Riffle and Pulverize samples;
• Submit samples to the Leachwell Lab, Fire Lab, Chemistry lab or Metallurgical Lab as per analysis requisition.
• Assist with weighing, analysis or cleanup as time permits;
• Maintain clean equipment and provide normal operation maintenance;
• Report equipment failures, hazard or required maintenance to the lab supervisor; and
• Maintain an organized sample storage area.


Desired Competencies and Requirements

• Two (2) years experience in a mining or commercial laboratory;
• High School diploma or equivalent;
• Experience using LIMS, Boyd Crushers, LM2 Pulverizers, lab jaw crusher and Ring and puck or disc mills is an asset;
• Must be reasonably fit to do repetitive lifts and turns for several hours per day handling a 31 lb pulveriser bowl; and
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems and other word-processing, spreadsheet, and scientific software applications; and ability to interpret data.
• Safety conscious and ability to perform tasks and responsibilities in a safe manner.


Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $91,637.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $33.25 and overtime rate of $49.88) in a work year.
