Job summary

Altasciences is seeking a Technical Specialist, Sample Management to oversee the Sample Management Technicians Service group and ensure high-quality, timely sample handling for laboratories. You will coach staff on material integrity, control, request, dispensation and destruction of study materials, while ensuring adherence to SOPs, GLPs and GCPs.

You will ensure proper documentation, train personnel, verify paperwork, and participate in process improvement initiatives, with a focus on accuracy

Qualifications

• High school degree or higher in health sciences or in the medical/pharmaceutical fields.
• 3 years of experience in the medical and/or pharmaceutical regulated fields.
• Must possess knowledge of FDA-GLP, GCP and TPD regulations.
• Very good knowledge in Watson LIMS, MS-Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and Kanbanize.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Attentive to details.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tasks conducted by the Sample Management Technicians Service group.
• Report major issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Coach and train staff on study material integrity, control, request, dispensation, and destruction of study material (excluding study samples).
• Ensure procedures are followed properly by staff.
• Find solutions and provide day-to-day support for issues.
• Ensure tasks are completed within defined timelines or reassign as needed.
• Optimize organization of freezer storage space.
• Oversee destruction of all study materials except study samples.
• Oversee reception and inventory of blank matrices.
• Verify paperwork generated by the Service group.
• Conduct in-life verifications and provide results and follow-ups.
• Provide coaching/mentoring and training to staff.
• Ensure quality and execution of daily work.
• Maintain chain custody of study material in Watson LIMS.
• Write/review user guides and training documents as needed.
• Participate in initiatives to optimize processes and procedures.
• Conduct all work in compliance with SOPs, GLPs, GCPs and company guidelines.
