The Granite Club is looking for a fixed-term Salon Team Lead who will play a crucial role in the administrative support of the Salon & Barbershop. Responsibilities include managing payroll, purchasing, ordering, inventory, stocking, and pricing of all retail items. Additionally, the Salon Team Lead assists the Salon Manager with the day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. This role also involves supporting Receptionists and the entire Salon and Barbershop team daily, maintaining a high level of service and accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support departmental strategies and goals and communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Salon Manager with the day-to-day activities of the Salon & Barbershop Department, including overseeing Estheticians, Hair Designers, Receptionists, and Attendants.
  • Monitor performance and recommend/initiate performance management, discipline, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating promotions, events, closures, and other programs affecting spa operations.
  • Ensure optimal treatment booking and product sales through ongoing monitoring of the POS booking system and sales records.
  • Perform and/or assist with payroll functions and processing.
  • Schedule employees and assign work to ensure proper coverage, and ensure scheduling is completed.
  • Maintain Salon and Barbershop standards, including cleanliness and tidiness, ensuring 100% presentability, and report any deficiencies to the Manager of Salon & Barbershop.
  • Maintain all inventories required for efficient service at the reception desk, including retail inventories, office supplies, stationery, gift certificates, wrapping, etc.
  • Assist in stocking, pricing, and securing all retail products, ensuring they are properly tagged and priced, and presented in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Coordinate and execute bi-monthly Salon retail inventory counts, ensuring compliance with accounting deadlines.
  • Lead the ordering of products and supplies, including preparation of purchase orders.
  • Support the Reception team during peak times, breaks, and vacations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • University or College Degree or Diploma in a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role
  • Highly computer literate
  • Excellent verbal, written, managerial and organizational skills
  • Highly customer/member service oriented
  • Well groomed, mannerly, co-operative, team oriented and friendly
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Able to work independently and with a team
  • Past experience in related area an asset
  • Willingness and ability to learn

Work Schedule

  • Flexible to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays
