The Position
We’re building a talent pool for a variety of roles, and one of the niche skill sets we’re specifically targeting is this one.
As part of the CRM team, this person will be instrumental in empowering our business user community with the processes and tools they need to drive transformational change. Your primary focus will be on the design, development, and deployment of Salesforce applications, custom components, and system integrations that support our evolving CRM initiatives.
In this role, you will work closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders—including business analysts, software engineers, and data management professionals—to translate strategic business objectives into technical solutions within our Salesforce environment.

A self-starter by nature, you excel at deconstructing technical problems into practical, scalable systems. Whether collaborating closely with a team or working independently, you take pride in bringing Salesforce to life in ways that enhance user experience and business value.
What success looks like?
- Takes ownership of key components and leads initiatives within their area of expertise.
- Translates complex business requirements into scalable, well-architected Salesforce solutions using Apex, Flows, and Lightning Components.
- Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to align technical implementation with business goals.
- Applies modern software development best practices, including iterative development, code reviews, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and delivers high-quality, maintainable code.
- Actively explores and integrates innovative technologies such as AI and data tools to improve business outcomes.
- Contributes to a culture of knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and continuous improvement across the development team.
- Stays curious and adaptable, continuously learning to remain current with Salesforce capabilities and emerging industry trends.
As Our Ideal Candidate You Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (required); Platform Developer II certification is a strong asset.
- Proven hands-on experience in Salesforce development, ideally within the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) framework.
- Proficiency in Apex programming, Flows, and Lightning Web Components.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, with working knowledge of Java, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with API development and third-party system integrations.
- Familiarity with version control and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, or other CI/CD platforms.
- Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies, including AI and data integration.

Plan International Canada is a hybrid workplace. You will work from the office and from home.
The salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $83,000 and $104,000. We comprehensively evaluate a variety of factors to determine fair compensation, including experience, specific job-related skills, and relevant educational or professional training. Additionally, we ensure that compensation is equitable across our team and aligns with current market trends. This role also qualifies for an extensive benefits package and generous paid time off.
