Job summary

Herc Rentals in Calgary, AB, is seeking a Sales Representative Trainee to join a 12‑month Black and Gold Academy program. You will receive structured coaching in professional selling, account management, and territory planning while shadowing seasoned Territory Sales Representatives in the field.

Earn exposure to a wide product portfolio and material handling across industrial, energy, and entertainment sectors.

Qualifications

• 0–5 years of sales or relevant customer facing experience.
• Recent graduates or early career candidates encouraged to apply.
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must have valid class 5 driver's license with a recent abstract if required.
• Keen interest in advancing into outside sales.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Herc Rentals' Black and Gold Academy, a structured, high impact sales development program.
• Receive training in professional selling skills, account management, territory planning, and customer engagement.
• Learn Herc Rentals' full product and service portfolio, including equipment, solutions, and specialty divisions.
• Shadow Territory Sales Representatives in the field to observe customer interactions and sales best practices.
• Visit customer job sites with experienced sales leaders to understand project needs and equipment applications.
• Assist with customer outreach, lead generation, and supporting revenue growth within assigned territories.
• Learn core branch operations, including equipment processes, logistics coordination, and customer service.
• Gain exposure to Industrial Services, National Accounts, Entertainment Services, and Energy Services.
• Prepare for full time placement into a Territory Sales Representative role upon completion of the program.
