Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Sales Support Associate to assist our sales team across Windsor, London and Kitchener field offices. The role emphasizes understanding the sales process, using multiple systems, and ensuring timely proposal processing for partners.

You will support renewals, identify opportunities for the sales team, and back up colleagues as needed. Strong English communication, post-secondary education, and numerical skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication in English; French is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with an analytical approach.
  • Adept with numbers, formulas and ability to read, compare and understand data.
  • Understanding the end-to-end sales process and how each part of the process impacts the next.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the sales process and participate in processing the business with excellence.
  • Work with all systems required for Sales Support Associate responsibilities in sales and renewal processes.
  • Collaborate with Sales team to ensure proposals are processed and released timely to partners.
  • Understand and participate in renewals; prepare renewals.
  • Acknowledge and raise opportunities to the sales team.
  • Provide back-up support to other positions on the team as required.
  • Take on ad-hoc assignments when needed.

This role works closely with and supports our sales team. The Sales Support Associate must be able to interact with these constituents including our advisors in an educated and informed manner. They must understand the “why” behind the “how” and have strong critical thinking skills.

What you will do:
  • Ability to understand the sales process and participate in the processing of the business with excellence
  • Ability to work with all systems required for the Sales Support Associate accountabilities of the sales and renewal process
  • Works with Sales team to ensure that proposals are processed and released in a complete and timely manner to our business partners
  • Understand the renewal process and participate preparing renewals is key
  • Acknowledging and raising any opportunities to the sales team
  • Willingness to take on ad-hoc assignments when needed
  • Ability to understand the sales process and participate in the processing of the business with excellence
  • Ability to work with all systems required for the Sales Support Associate accountabilities of the sales and renewal process
  • Works with Sales team to ensure that proposals are processed and released in a complete and timely manner to our business partners
  • Understand the renewal process and participate preparing renewals is key
  • Processing Agent of Record changes
  • Helping new advisors set up broker contracting
  • Acknowledging and raising any opportunities to the sales team
  • Provide back-up support to other positions on the team as required
  • Willingness to take on ad-hoc assignments when needed
What you will bring:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. French is an asset.

  • Adept with numbers, formulas and ability to read, compare and understand data
  • Understanding the end-to-end sales process and how each part of the process impacts the next
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in Excel, with a keen ability to learn and work within other software programs (RS4, ARC, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Comfortable using MS Office 365 (One Note, One Drive, Word, Teams, and Outlook)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail is key to succeed in this role
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the group benefits industry would be considered an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $43,400 - $65,100 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
