Job summary

Squire John's is seeking a seasonal Sales and Service Technician for Devil’s Glen Country Club in Clearview, ON. You will keep skis and snowboards tuned, help customers select gear, and support sales at the point of sale throughout the winter season.

Ideal candidates bring mechanical aptitude and a passion for winter sports. Duties include tuning, bindings work, safety testing, and inventory support, with opportunities for hands-on training in a friendly outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Ski/snowboard tech experience is an asset and training may be provided.
• Binding certification or relevant technical training is an asset.
• Strong mechanical skills and commitment to safe, quality workmanship.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash transactions.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and advise on skis, snowboards, boots, bindings and winter accessories.
• Assist with sales and the point of sale, including transactions, returns and exchanges.
• Tune skis and snowboards, including waxing, edge sharpening and base repair.
• Mount, adjust and test bindings to manufacturer specs and safety standards.
• Diagnose equipment issues and provide accurate service estimates and turnaround times.
• Prepare and maintain rental and demo equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop and organize tools and stations.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, pricing and merchandising winter products.
• Follow health and safety, equipment-handling and cash-handling procedures.

Location: Devil’s Glen Country Club, 1793 Simcoe County Rd 124, Clearview, ON

Employment type: Seasonal, Full Time

Season: Approximately October/November – April 15th

Hours: Monday – Friday, Ski operations hours, Weekends, and Holidays as required.

Reports to: Managing Director / Shop Supervisor

Position Summary

As a seasonal Sales and Service Tech at our Devil’s Glen Country Club location, you'll combine hands-on technical skill with great customer service. You'll keep skis and snowboards tuned and performing at their best all winter, and help customers find the right gear so they hit the hill with confidence.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Greet customers and advise on skis, snowboards, boots, bindings and winter accessories
• Assist with sales and the point of sale, including transactions, returns and exchanges
• Tune skis and snowboards, including waxing, edge sharpening and base repair
• Mount, adjust and test bindings to manufacturer specifications and safety standards
• Diagnose customer equipment issues, explain the work required and provide accurate service estimates and turnaround times
• Prepare and maintain rental and demo equipment as needed
• Keep accurate service records and manage the service queue to meet customer promises, especially during busy weekends and holidays
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe workshop, including tools, equipment and work stations
• Assist with receiving, stocking, pricing and merchandising winter product
• Follow all health and safety, equipment-handling and cash-handling procedures
• Work closely with your team and the Devil's Glen staff and members to deliver an exceptional customer experience
• Take on other retail and service duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a ski or snowboard tech is an asset, but we're happy to train someone with mechanical aptitude and a passion for winter sports
• Binding certification or other relevant technical training is an asset
• Strong mechanical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to safe, quality workmanship
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly
• Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash, debit and credit transactions
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Availability for the full winter season, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• A love of skiing, snowboarding or the outdoors is a definite plus
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
