Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Onsite Leadership team, this position supports the growth of the onsite business by driving profitable sales growth and customer service through understanding.

Fly in out/Fly out position if based out of Edmonton

Job Responsibilities (You Will):
  1. Interact, respond and follow up with customers on a daily basis, promptly responding to all inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  2. Sell a diversified line of products over-the-counter promoting Private Brands, Technical Services, and ecommerce channels whenever possible and provide an understanding of the Grainger Value Proposition to customers.
  3. Process customer orders through the computer system, ensuring accuracy and prompt delivery.
  4. Maintain a well-rounded knowledge of products sold including the completion of the required training programs.
  5. Support other branch-related duties including but not limited to supporting warehouse functions as required.
  6. Assist in driving the achievement of key operational metrics in customer satisfaction, sales, safety, and operational improvements by utilizing available tools and reporting.
  7. Utilize sound judgment and best practices to resolve complex customer concerns.
  8. Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) Team meetings and CI on-site initiatives as required.
  9. Have a strong commitment to personal safety and safety in the workplace.
  10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required for the position.


Education/Experience (You Have):
  1. 1 to 2 years previous customer service experience.
  2. Demonstrates a strong work ethic and personal commitment to get the job done.
  3. Demonstrated focus on "wowing" the customer with exceptional service.
  4. Knowledge of industrial and/or safety products considered an asset.
  5. Superior interpersonal, problem solving, and customer service skills to effectively build relationships.
  6. Proficient computer skills and aptitude.
  7. Possession of a valid driver's license is an asset.
  8. Completion of High School Diploma.


The position may require you to attend at our customers' sites. Some customers may have alcohol and drug screening policies for on-site contractors and vendors. You may be required to submit to such customer screening procedures as and when requested as a condition of being permitted on such sites.

This position will require you to adhere to safety requirements in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation, as it relates to wearing personal protective equipment on certain customer sites. This includes: a hard hat; clean shaven in order to wear a close-fitted N95 mask.
