Job description

As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for supporting and managing existing customer accounts primarily within Ontario, with opportunities to expand across North America. You will learn the full range of the product lines, including residential and commercial waterproofing, flooring underlayments, and tile products. This role involves a mix of office-based training and on-the-road client visits, building strong relationships with contractors, distributors, and builders. The position offers a $60,000 base salary, a company vehicle, and significant potential to earn commissions as you grow into a full sales role.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $60,000 Base Salary
  • Earning potential (Year 2+): $105,000 - $125,000+
  • Company Vehicle Provided

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:

  • Head Office: Concord, Ontario
  • Work Environment: Hybrid – office-based training and regular client site visits
  • Sales Territory: Ontario-wide (with potential to support clients across North America)
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility may be required for site visits.

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 year + experience in outside sales or customer-facing roles, preferably in construction, industrial, or related industries
  • Experience managing existing client relationships and providing exceptional customer service
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-based environment with frequent travel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with contractors, builders, and distributors
  • Ability to learn technical product knowledge and apply it effectively on-site
  • A positive, confident attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the company

THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION

  • Contractors, Builders, Distributors
  • Flooring, Waterproofing, and Tile Installers
  • Large construction companies and retail distributors
  • Primarily servicing clients across Ontario and North America
  • Decision makers include Site Managers, Purchasing Managers, and Inspectors

SALES CYCLE / ORDER VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE

  • Average length of sales cycle 1 - 6 months
  • Average sales cycle will shorten as product knowledge and relationships develop
  • Current focus is not on direct order value but maintaining and growing long-term client partnerships

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES:

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES:

  • 60% Client Management & Support
  • 30% Site Visits and Sample Delivery
  • 10% Administrative & Training Activities

LEADS:

  • 100% Warm Leads and Existing Clients in Year 1
  • Transition to include Prospecting and New Business Development in Year 2+

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:

  • Less than 10%
  • Occasional travel within Ontario may be required for client visits

SUPPORT & TRAINING:

  • Job Shadowing with company leadership
  • Mentorship and hands-on field support
  • In-office product and CRM training
  • Sales and technical training (1–2 weeks each)
  • Start selling to clients within 4–6 weeks (gradual onboarding)
