Sales Representative - Retail Food Equipment Sales (GTA Central and GTA East roles available)
Our client, a leading multi-national provider of commercial equipment products and solutions with retail, foodservice, and hospitality, is looking for a sharp salesperson to join their growing team as an Outside Sales Representative.
Reporting to the Ontario Sales Manager, this role will be responsible for achieving assigned sales goals by identifying new leads, prospecting new accounts, upselling and cross-selling current and newly offered line of retail equipment in Ontario for existing and new customers. An ideal candidate will be based in GTA, East.
Responsibilities
- Identify and attract new customers and collaborate with sales managers to maintain relationships with existing accounts to achieve set sales goals under the direction of Sales Manager.
- Manage all aspects of the customer relationship within the assigned and given categories.
- Implement sales plans and growth strategies to promote and establish the assigned product line to gain a solid foothold in the retail industry in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
- Travel to customer locations across the province of Ontario as required to successfully sell assigned core products and equipment. Willingness to be up to 80% on the road visiting potential customers, 20% working from home office.
- Cross-sell and upsell products within the assigned categories.
- Prepare sales proposals and value propositions based on customer need and expectation.
- Provide quotations for customers using price and delivery guidelines and use solid business judgment to enhance volume and margins.
- Prepare sales presentations in collaboration with the marketing team to create the product, service, and solution understanding and awareness along with return-on-investment calculations.
- Deliver technical presentations to designated customers.
- Source and develop customer referrals as a strategy to gain business.
- Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities, and communicate such information internally and drive corrective strategies or actions.
- Work collaboratively with the product engineering, service, and business support functions to deliver targets and achieve goals.
- Respond to any sales inquiries and concerns by phone, email, or in-person.
- Participate in sales campaigns, sales events such as trade shows, conferences to promote the company’s products, including in the evenings or weekends.
- Attend office location for product demos for customers, attend regular training and annual sales meetings in the Toronto Head Office.
- Maintain sales activity records and reports and provide any feedback from the customers to appropriate department managers.
- Update CRM as required per set standard process.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of at least high school diploma required, other certifications are an asset.
- Willingness to learn core products.
- Technically inclined along with sound mathematical skills. Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Must have a designated home office space.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Good analytical, planning / organizational skills and ability to transpose strategy into action.
- Self-disciplined with a high sense of urgency and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using computer applications, including CRM, Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proactive approach, and strong customer service skills.
- A positive attitude, drive, and persistence.
