Job description

Pacific Wine & Spirits is one of Western Canada’s top regional beverage alcohol agencies and are committed to making equity, diversity and inclusion part of our culture.We seek a proactive person to join the team as a Sales Representative & Merchandiser – Saskatchewan, servicing a hybrid territory of high-profile restaurants & liquor retail sales outlets. Territory coverage is Regina and greater area, with quarterly travel to Saskatoon.

You will have the opportunity to work with an outstanding portfolio of wines and spirits from award winning and environmentally conscious family owned and operated wine estates and distilleries.We offer a supportive, collaborative environment and are committed to the safety and wellbeing of our team. This position will allow for autonomy to manage your territory while supporting a positive work/life balance.This is a part-time, permanent position and the role offers flexibility in schedule.The role will require some evening and weekend work for events, festivals and supplier visits which are planned well in advance. Work location: 85% field work, 15% home office work.

Requirements for this position:

Sales experience in the beverage alcohol sector.

Can identify customer needs, and present products to fit that need in a consultive manner. Can secure new distribution and drive volume.

Strong closing skills

Merchandising experience: building displays, applying neckers, stickers or on packs, facing product, building displays, shelf set realignments, cold box placements

Self starter and well organized.Works well in both team environments and on their own

Foster relationships with teammates, suppliers, store managers, buyers and key staff at accounts

Able to provide market feedback to chain managers located in Alberta

Clear and concise communicator both verbally and written and able to adjust depending on audience

Conduct in-store tastings and work trade shows and consumer tasting festivals

Develop and maintain a regular route call plan for all channels and accounts in the territory to work most efficiently and service all assigned accounts

Maintain and increase product distribution by working with existing accounts and cold-calling new accounts where applicable

Media relations

Attention to detail in ensuring store shelf tags, partner ads, drink list have our brands spelled properly, correct images and according to brand guidelines

Have an understanding of social media platforms and how they fit into modern business strategies

Be comfortable conducting business in written and spoken English

Administratively strong

Proficient at software programs such Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook

This job requires moving equipment, supplies and lifting 23 kg/50 lbs, as well as standing for long periods at trade shows pouring product

Full-time access to a reliable vehicle and a valid and unimpeded SK Driver’s License

Valid and unimpeded passport

WSET Level 1 or equivalent is minimum. Level 2 is preferred.

Second language

“Serve It Right Saskatchewan” Certification. This will be required.

With over 50 years in Western Canada, Pacific Wine & Spirits is a privately owned and operated agency, emphasizing the values of integrity, authenticity and teamwork.We offer monthly vehicle and home office allowances, reimbursement for approved work expenses including out of town territory coverage.Hourly rate is $25/hour, invoiced to Pacific Wine & Spirits every to weeks.
