Job description

Tomlinson is looking for a highly motivated Sales Representativeto grow and manage sales of aggregate asphalt and salt products. This role focuses on building lasting relationships with both new and existing customers while consistently exceeding sales goals through effective time and territory management. The ideal candidate is eager to learn self-driven and thrives in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of clients
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and relationship-building
  • Promote the full suite of Tomlinson products and services to create value-added solutions for customers
  • Provide product recommendations and application support to clients
  • Prepare accurate sales contracts including pricing and delivery terms
  • Maintain strong post-sale customer relationships and provide ongoing support
  • Stay informed on market trends competitor offerings and product specifications
  • Collaborate closely with operations teams (aggregate asphalt quality control) to ensure timely and high-quality products
  • Track customer activity and pipeline opportunities daily using Salesforce CRM
  • Engage in client and association events as a representative of the company
  • Actively monitor credit limits and follow up on customer accounts including liaising with Accounts Receivable

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Post-secondary education in business sales or a related field
  • 5 years of sales experience ideally in construction materials or related industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to build relationships and close sales
  • Excellent communication organizational and time-management skills
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and eagerness to learn

Working Conditions :

  • Work environments vary between office settings customer offices and active construction sites
  • Regular travel required across the primary territory of Ottawa with occasional coverage of sub-markets in Eastern Ontario
  • Occasional evening and weekend work for events or customer needs
