Job summary

Avantor is seeking a driven sales professional in the Great Vancouver Area to manage a defined territory and drive revenue growth. You will prospect, present solutions, and partner with internal teams to meet customer needs. Expect travel to client sites and collaboration with manufacturing reps.

The role emphasizes consultative selling, CRM discipline and the ability to navigate multi-stakeholder decisions in a dynamic environment. A science background and B2B sales experience are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences or equivalent, or applicable experience preferred.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in a complex, dynamic sales environment with multiple decision-makers.
  • Excellent people skills in communicating and collaborating with customers, management and internal specialists.
  • Experience in B2B sales, especially distribution, is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or Qlikview is a plus.

Opportunity

The Opportunity: Supports revenue growth across a defined territory by managing the sales process for a portfolio of customers. Focuses on acquiring new customers and expanding business within existing accounts through in-person meetings, product presentations, and consultative selling. Collaborates with internal teams such as Account Managers, Product Specialists, and Customer Care to deliver tailored solutions aligned with customer needs. Maintains accurate records in CRM systems (e.g., C4C), monitors sales activity, and executes territory business plans aligned with broader commercial goals. Applies established sales practices and product knowledge to address recurring customer needs and support operational execution.

What we’re looking for:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree within sciences or equivalent, or applicable experience preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3+ years of experience preferred working in a complex, dynamic sales environment, where multiple people are involved in the purchasing decision and there is a solution-based approach. Business-to-business sales experience preferred, especially distribution experience, scientific background and/or having work in a laboratory or research environment.
  • Excellent people skills in communicating and collaborating with customers, manufacturing reps, management, team members and internal specialists.
  • Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers.
  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to sell strategically within an account.
  • Ability to understand individual customer operations.
  • Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, with preference for experience in Salesforce or Qlikview.
Where you will operate

Should be located in the Great Vancouver Area. Must possess a valid Driver's License in good standing. Be willing to travel to customer locations at minimum 5 days per week. Expected travel 50-75% including overnights. Canadian Sales associates are required to travel to the United States for annual sales conferences and occasional training sessions.

Successfully manage a territory consisting of diverse customers across various markets by providing Avantor solutions and implementing sales strategies to optimize sales revenue growth and gross profits. Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline and developing and delivering proposals to customers by illustrating Avantor's value proposition. Expand Avantor's role with existing customers by developing retention strategies illustrating Avantor's value proposition in conjunction with evolving customer requirements. Sell consultatively, detailing products, determine customer needs and requirements, and make recommendations to both prospects and customers of the various solutions Avantor can offer their business. Build and sustain relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. Leverage available resources to effectively implement company marketing plan, strategies and sales processes. Work in conjunction with sales management team, providing proposals and implementing sales strategies to achieve sales growth. Work directly with local manufacturer representatives to develop and continually improve product knowledge, arrive at most favored pricing, and improve account profitability. Demonstrate Avantor’s mission and uphold the Avantor Code of Conduct. Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $61,500.00 - $101,430.00 this reflects base salary. This position is subject to incentive compensation, where the expected pre-tax Target Cash Opportunity (“TCO”) for this position is based on the achieved sales and in the amount/range of, $87,900.00 - $144,900.00 Actual Pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and eligible geographic location. TCO is defined as Base + Target Sales Incentive (Sales Incentive eligible role only).
